On May 14th, at approximately 10:40 am, South Precinct officers responded to a call of an armed robbery to a business in the 4800 Block of Rainier Avenue South. According to the victim, an unknown black male, early 20’s, approximately 5′ 09″ tall, medium build, wearing a baseball cap, black t-shirt, and black shorts walked into a store and approached the clerk. He asked for change for a dollar bill. When the clerk opened the till to get the change, the suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her. The suspect then grabbed money from the open till and left on foot southbound on Rainier Avenue South. Officers responded quickly to the area, but did not locate the suspect. Robbery detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
