On 5/22/2012, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the suspect went into a gas station in the 8400 block of Aurora Avenue North. The suspect produced a knife and threatened the clerk with it. The suspect went behind the counter, with the clerk, and emptied the cash drawer of all the money. The suspect then fled on foot eastbound from the gas station.
Officers arrived in the area and saw a male hiding behind a fence in a yard in the 8400 block of Stone Way North. The officers contacted the suspect who was in the act of changing his clothing in an effort to disguise himself. The suspect was arrested. The suspect was positively identified at the arrest scene by the victim clerk, as well as video tape confirmation from the gas station security CCTV. The cash was also recovered at the arrest scene.
The suspect was transported to the North Precinct for processing. He will be booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
