Emphasis patrol observes drug deal, recovers gun downtown

On May 28th, members of the West Precinct Anti-Crime Team (ACT) were working as part of the Violence Prevention Emphasis Patrol along the Pike/Pine corridor.  Officers were out in force, maintaining high visibility in that area.

At approximately 9:15 pm, officers observed a drug transaction between two individuals in the 1500 Block of 2nd Avenue.  After the deal was done, one of the suspects walked into a store and officers took him into custody without incident.  Officers recovered a small, loaded semi-auto .25 caliber pistol from the suspect’s front pocket.  The suspect was a 21 year old male.  He was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of VUCSA and Investigation of VUFA.  Also recovered from the suspect at the time of arrest was .4 grams of crack cocaine, 4.1 grams of marijuana, and over $200 cash was seized.
