A frightened woman fled her 1400 block South Hinds home with her nanny and children after her 42 year old boyfriend threatened to kill her last night. The suspect then called the victim and told her he had armed himself with a .38 caliber handgun.
He made threats to shoot the police if they responded or to kill himself. The victims called 911 around 7:30 p.m. and patrol, SWAT and negotiators all responded to the scene.
Negotiators were able to reach the suspect via phone and the conversation went on for several hours, however the suspect still refused to come out and continued to threaten to harm himself and officers.
SWAT eventually was able to take the man into custody. When officers entered the home, they located the weapon in the bedroom and discovered that the suspect had fired one round while in the basement.
The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Domestic Violence Harassment.
