Collision, Shooting In South Seattle

Last night at about 10:25 pm, South Precinct officers responded to the report of a vehicle collision with a shot fired in the 5800 block of Oakhurst Avenue South.

A witness reported seeing a driver get out of the car, “stagger” around it, then drive away north bound. The witness then heard a vehicle collision and “what he thought” was a single gunshot.

Investigating officers located a large pool of blood on the sidewalk in the 5800 block of 0akhurst Ave S. The officers located damaged vehicles at Wilson Ave S. and S. Orcas and a collision at Wilson Ave S. and S. Graham St. The victim was leaning against the driver’s side of his vehicle at S. Graham St. when officers first arrived. He then climbed back into the vehicle and did not respond to the officers’ commands.

Eventually, the officers were able to secure the victim. The victim was found to have a gunshot wound to his head. Seattle Fire responded and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center. A handgun was discovered next to the victim’s vehicle.Detectives from Homicide and Assault and CSI responded to investigate and processed the three scenes. The 29 year old male victim is still in the hospital.
