A 19-year-old man suspected of snatching jewelry in a recent rash of street robberies in South Seattle is in custody after he turned himself in to detectives on Friday.
Last week, detectives—who are investigating a spate of more than 20 purse and necklace snatchings across the South Precinct—put the word out they were looking for the man, who they believe is a suspect in at least three street robberies.
Detectives are still looking for suspects in several other robberies, and don’t think all the chain and purse-snatchings were committed by one person or one group.
