Officers responded to a report of a shooting this morning around 3:15 am in the 1500 Block of 2nd Avenue. When they arrived, they located a victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and immediately began first aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and took over. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for his injury.
Other officers on the scene began interviewing witnesses and now believe that the shooting occurred following a dispute inside the Noc Noc Club. The involved parties took their argument outside where it escalated on the west side of the street, ending with the shots fired. The suspect(s) fled the scene in a car, and despite an extensive search, was not located.
Detectives from the Gang Unit responded and processed the scene and will be responsible for the follow up investigation.
Update: Detectives have learned that while the victim had been at a downtown club the morning of the shooting, the altercation between the suspect and the victim actually began outside the club.
