A 27-year-old man was shot and killed in a South Seattle neighborhood this morning. Just shortly before 4:00 a.m., residents in the Dunlap neighborhood, near 54 Av S and S. Grattan PL S heard multiple gunshots. One caller looked out their window and saw a person sitting in a vehicle, slumped over.
Officers arrived on scene and found a vehicle (blue Buick Lesabre)with its lights on and the engine running on the north side of the 5400 block of Grattan Street. An unresponsive male was slumped over the steering wheel with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Seattle Fire responded and attempted to resuscitate the victim. Their efforts were unsuccessful.
Officers combed the area searching for the suspect(s). It is unknown what preceded the shooting; however one caller heard a vehicle start up and leave the area immediately following the shooting.
Homicide and CSI detectives responded and processed the scene. This is an open and active investigation.
