Man arrested for last weekend’s 30-minute span of violence in U District

Police have arrested the primary suspect  in last weekend’s University District robbery and assault spree . Detectives developed information about a possible suspect from evidence left during the 30 minute span of violence and sent that information out to patrol officers.  On Monday, October 1st, just before 6:00 pm, the 19 year old suspect was observed by a couple of officers boarding a Metro bus in West Seattle.  They recognized the suspect and arrested him without incident.  The suspect was then transported to the Robbery Unit office where he was interviewed by detectives.  The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault from an assault that occurred at a tavern in the University District.  The case has been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office, and additional charges may be forthcoming.   Detectives are still searching for possible accomplices.  This remains an active and on-going robbery investigation.
