A man was punched in the eye during a robbery in the University District. Last night, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the victim was walking down the street in the 1500 block of NE 52 nd St. Two male suspects jumped out of the bushes and punched him in the eye. The suspects then took the victim’s $20 cash and a six-pak of Dr. Pepper and ran from the scene.
Two possible suspects were detained several blocks away but the victim was unable to positively identify them.
One of the detained suspects has a prior conviction for robbery and both not only fit the suspect description, they were both seen running from the immediate area of the crime.
Both suspects were indentifed and released from the scene. The victim did not sustain serious injury and declined medical treatment.
