Armed robbery in University District

Last night, just before 9:00 pm, a man walking in the University District was confronted by an unknown male suspect armed with a handgun and robbed of his backpack.

The man had been walking near NE 47th Street and 19th Avenue NE when the  suspect, described as a Hispanic male, in his mid twenties, 5′ 10″ and heavy build confronted the victim with what appeared to be a small gun, possibly a revolver.  The suspect told the victim, “Give me everything you got,” while pointing a gun at the victim.  The victim surrendered his backpack, and the suspect walked away.  The victim was not injured. The victim saw the suspect get into the passenger side of a small light colored car with tinted windows.  The car then left northbound.

There is no description of the driver, nor is there a better description of the vehicle.  Officers conducted a search of the area, but the suspect or car were not located.  Robbery detectives will now handle the follow up investigation.  Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Seattle Police.
