An employee on a smoke break was robbed by a suspect armed with a handgun last night outside his workplace in South Seattle. The suspect was not located.
Last night, at about 8:30 pm, an employee of the Auto Zone in the 9700 Block of Rainier Avenue South was standing in front of the store while on break. He told officers that he was approached by an unknown suspect who, after exchanging a few pleasantries, pulled a gun and demanded “everything” the victim had. The victim handed over cash and the suspect left the area on foot. The victim was not injured.
Officers arrived quickly after receiving the 911 call and a K-9 team also responded. Despite the containment and K-9 track, the suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, in his early twenties, approximately 5’7″ with short hair, some facial hair on his chin and wearing a black and red jacket. This incident will be referred to the Robbery Unit for folllow up investigation.
