Robbery detectives are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred last night in Lake City just after 8:00pm. A female suspect was later located and arrested.
Last night, just after 8:00pm, the victim answered a knock at the door of his home in the 13700 Block of 27th Avenue NE. The male victim recognized a female acquaintance on the porch. The woman was with a man, whom she introduced as her cousin, and the victim let both of them in. Once inside, the male suspect produced a handgun and secured the victim’s hands and feet with a cord. The two suspects spent about 30 minutes inside the house, taking various items. The suspects then left in the car they arrived in and the victim’s own car. The victim, who was not injured, was able to free himself and call 911.
North Precinct officers responded immediately and Robbery Unit detectives were called to the scene. Detectives interviewed the victim and processed the scene. Information on the suspects and the two vehicles they left in was broadcast to other officers.
At around 12:15 this morning, the female suspect was located and arrested in Renton. The 42-year-old female was transported to the Seattle Police Robbery Office where she was interviewed by detectives. Detectives learned that the victim’s vehicle had been dumped in a parking lot near the victim’s home, and that was recovered and impounded to the processing room by officers. It was also discovered that the male suspect and another male were driving the first vehicle. Detectives are following up on leads and will continue to investigate this incident. The 42-year-old female was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
