Police Searching For West Seattle Home Invasion Suspect

Police are searching for a man who robbed several people at gunpoint during an estate sale at a West Seattle home Thursday afternoon.

Around 3:45 pm, a masked, armed man forced his way inside a home at SW Hinds St. and Belvidere Ave SW and stole cash and jewelry from the people inside the home.

Police initially received a report of gunfire during the robbery, but officers have yet to find any evidence confirming shots were fired.  Nobody was injured during the robbery.

The suspect then fled through the neighborhood.

The man was described as a white male in his 20’s, 5’10, husky, and wearing black clothing.

Officers stopped a car near California Avenue SW and SW Hanford Street—less than a mile from the scene of the robbery—and temporarily detained a possible suspect.  That man was investigated and released from the scene.

The suspect remains at large.  Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident.  Anonymous tips are welcome.

This remains an active and on-going robbery investigation.
