A woman entering her apartment in North Seattle tonight was confronted by a burglar who caused her to flee. The female victim had arrived home in the 900 block of NE 70th Street at approximately 5:19 p.m. and was entering her apartment when an unknown male suspect slammed the door shut on her. Out of fear for her safety she ran to a neighbor’s apartment and called 911. The suspect fled the victim’s apartment shortly thereafter and was last seen walking northbound on Roosevelt towards NE 71st Street.
Patrol officers and canine units responded to the scene and conducted an extensive search however, the suspect remains at large. The victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a thin built black male in his 30’s with short, almost balding hair, 5’7″ tall and last seen wearing a black beanie, white shirt, heavy black jacket, blue jeans and carrying a white trash bag and black backpack.
Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident. Anonymous tips are welcome.
