A man was shot in the face this morning in Pioneer Square. Just shortly before 6:00 a.m., multiple calls came into 9-1-1 reporting shots heard in the area of 3rd Av and S. Washington St. Officers arrived in the area and found the victim, a man in his 30’s in the 300 block of 2nd Av Ext. with a gunshot wounds to his face and forearm. The victim was alert and conscious however, he could not provide suspect information or details of what had happened.
The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire Medics. The witnesses on scene told officers that they heard three shots and then saw two males running. Several witnesses reported that the victim attempted to board a metro coach. Several other witnesses reported that the victim had attempted to get into several vehicles and was screaming for assistance.
It is unknown what precipitated the shooting. The investigation continues.
