Seattle Police and Seattle Fire responded to an early morning accident where a 19-year-old man fell approximately 30 feet to the ground after climbing on the fenced-off structure.
At around 5:20 this morning, both police and fire responded to Gas Works Park in the 2100 Block of North Northlake Way for a report of an accidental fall with life-threatening injuries. Two men had scaled the fence to climb atop the structure inside the park when one of them, a 19-year-0ld, fell while moving along a walk way about 30 feet off the ground. The victim fell through a gap in the grating to the ground below. His friend immediately called 911.
Seattle Fire Department Medics arrived and administered CPR. The seriously injured man was then transported to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
