Arson/Bomb Squad detectives are actively investigating an arson to a parked vehicle that occurred late Thursday night in South Seattle.
On April 4th at approximately 11:46 p.m. officers and firefighters (SFD) responded to the 9800 block of 59th Avenue South for the report of a vehicle fire. The fire was quickly put out after SFD arrived on scene. Seattle Police Arson/Bomb Squad detectives and a Fire Marshal also responded to investigate further.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim’s vehicle was parked near his home. SFD initially believed the fire to be electrical in nature however, upon further investigation it was determined to be a deliberately set fire. There are no suspects at this time.
Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect(s) is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident. Anonymous tips are welcome.
