Armed Car Jacking in South Seattle

An armed suspect stole the victim’s silver Mercedes this morning while he was in the 2300 Block of 24th Avenue South.  Despite an area check by officers, neither the suspect or the victim’s car were located.

At around 10:35 this morning, the victim was in his silver Mercedes in the 2300 Block of 24th Avenue South.  The unknown male suspect approached him and produced a small revolver.  The suspect demanded the victim’s car, and then fled in it north on 24th Avenue South and then west on South College Street.  The victim was able to call 911 and officers responded.  Officers conducted an area check but did not find the Mercedes.

The victim described the suspect as a black male, in this thirties, 5’10” 190-195 pounds, medium complexion, short hair, light colored eyes.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt over a black shirt and dark pants.

Robbery Unit detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
