A man robbed the Georgetown Wells Fargo bank this morning. Just shortly before 11:00 a.m., a man walked into the Wells Fargo bank in the 5900 block of Corson Av S, slipped the teller a note demanding cash. After collecting an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled the bank on foot, walking westbound on S. Michigan. No weapon was seen or implied.
Officers and detectives responded and searched the area for the suspect without success.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20s to 30s, 6’00 tall. He was wearing a painting mask over his nose and mouth, a burgundy sweater or sweatshirt with a hood, blue jeans, carrying a blue duffel bag.
This is an open and active investigation. Anyone with information about this incident and or the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.
