Detectives are actively investigating a shooting that is believed to have stemmed from an attempted armed robbery of a man in North Seattle.
At approximately 1:09 a.m. officers responded to Northwest Hospital for the report of a man who arrived there with gunshot wounds to the chest and arm. Preliminary investigation indicates that the 45-year-old male victim had met with three unknown adult male suspects for a narcotics transaction somewhere in the vicinity of North 92nd Street and Woodlawn Avenue North. As they discussed the matter in and around the victim’s black Cadillac Escalade things did not go as planned.
One of the suspects produced a handgun and demanded the victim hand over his marijuana. The victim did not cooperate and was shot twice. All three suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction and remain at large (the only suspect description available at this time is two black males and one Hispanic male, all adults). None of the victim’s property was successfully taken during the altercation.
The victim fled the scene in his Cadillac and drove himself directly to the emergency room at Northwest Hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. From there he was transported to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identities or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5535 and refer to this incident. Anonymous tips are welcome.
This remains an active and on-going investigation.
