A man is in custody after witnesses pointed him out to officers following a stabbing officers had responded to in the 1400 Block of 3rd Avenue.
Just a few minutes past midnight, officers responded to a call of a man who had been stabbed in the neck at that location. When they arrived, they found the man lying on the sidewalk. A citizen was providing first aid to the victim. The man had a deep cut on his neck, and the wound was bleeding profusely. Witnesses pointed out a possible suspect across the street. Officers arrested the suspect and Seattle Fire medics rushed the victim to Harborview Medical Center for his life-threatening injury. Officers were able to follow the blood trail of the victim back to an apartment in the 1400 Block of 3rd Avenue.
The victim underwent surgery at the hospital but it is believed that he will survive. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for felony assault.
