Officers are on the lookout for a man who set fire to a photo booth at Northgate Mall this morning.
At approximately 9:33 a.m. officers responded to an arson at the Northgate Mall located in the 400 block of NE Northgate Way.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the adult male suspect entered a video/photo booth which is located near the south end of the mall near the food court entrance. The suspect then lit one of the photo booth curtains on fire and exited the booth. A witness saw the fire and notified a nearby store employee. They then flagged down a security officer who extinguished the fire.
Security camera footage was checked and showed the suspect exiting the mall and heading south on foot. Officers conducted an area search however, the suspect remains at large.
Seattle Police Arson/Bomb Squad detectives and the SFD Fire Marshal responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.
Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident. Anonymous tips are welcome.
