A Man died of his injuries after he was struck by a train. On 10/10/13 at approximately 6:30p.m., an adult male in his fifties was observed walking alone westbound in the 200 block of South Lander Street, over the railroad tracks. For unknown reasons, the male did not respond to the horns of a northbound passenger Amtrak train. The train was unable to stop and collided with the male.
The Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene where the male was pronounced deceased. Traffic Collision Investigators responded and processed the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body. No passengers on the train were injured.
The investigation continues.
