(UPDATED) 82-Year-Old Man Arrested Following Shooting At Union Gospel Mission

BX2PEnSCYAA4UHUUPDATE: Detectives have interviewed and released the 82-year-old man arrested at the Union Gospel Mission this morning. The 82-year-old told police he shot a 45-year-old man inside the Mission after the man tried to assault and rob him. Detectives are still investigating the case.

The 45-year-old man is in critical but stable condition at Harborview.

One man was seriously wounded  in a shooting inside the Union Gospel Mission Wednesday.

Shortly before 11:45 AM, police received reports of a shooting at the Mission, near 2nd Avenue and Washington St.

The gunman, a man believed to be in his 70s, shot the victim twice before he was arrested at the scene.

The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was taken to Harborview with life-threatening injuries.

Homicide/Assault detectives are now investigating.
