A knife-wielding man remains at large after robbing a QFC in North Seattle early this morning.
On December 24th at approximately 1:55 a.m. officers responded to the QFC located in the 9900 block of Holman Road NW for the report of a shoplift that had escalated into a robbery. Preliminary investigation indicates that a female employee had been stocking shelves near the automotive aisle when she noticed the male suspect loading several items into a QFC hand basket. The employee engaged the suspect in conversation and became suspicious of him based on some of the things he said to her. The employee followed the suspect towards the check-out stations. The employee observed the suspect walk past all of the check-out stations and out the front door of the store without paying.
The employee confronted the suspect and asked him if he would like her to cash out the items in his basket. The suspect turned toward her and brandished a 6-inch blade knife and yelled at her to stay away from him. At that point the employee backed away from the suspect and watched him get into a maroon, older model Toyota Camry and drive away. The employee was not injured during the confrontation.
Responding officers conducted an area search for the suspect and suspect vehicle however, they remain at large.
The suspect stole cans of transmission fluid, stain remover, motor oil and other miscellaneous automotive products.
The suspect is described as a white male, 18 to 22 years old, 5’10” tall, 170 pounds, sandy-colored hair, clean shaven and last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket, and blue jeans.
