Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding a man who arrived at Swedish Hospital this morning with a gunshot wound.
At approximately 7:12 a.m. a 19-year-old male showed up at the Swedish First Hill hospital’s emergency room with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. Officers responded to the hospital and interviewed the man who claimed that he was standing on the corner of 12th Avenue and East Jefferson Street at around 6:30 a.m. when he was approached by an adult male suspect. The suspect asked the victim if he was friends with another man who was lying on the sidewalk. A verbal argument ensued between the victim and the suspect. The victim claims the suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at his stomach. The victim pushed the handgun away as the suspect pulled the trigger. A bullet struck the victim in the left leg.
