Two Elderly Women Assaulted & Robbed Outside Temple in South Seattle

Two male suspects remain at large after an armed robbery and assault of two women outside a temple in South Seattle.

On January 25th at approximately 2:03 p.m. officers responded to the 6900 block of 42nd Avenue South for the report of an armed robbery.  Preliminary investigation indicates that two elderly women walked out of the Duoc Su Temple and onto the sidewalk. Two male suspects approached them and tried to steal the women’s purses. When one of the victims would not let go of her purse the suspect pulled out a handgun and struck her on the head with it. Both suspects then fled the scene on foot.

Although officers arrived on scene within two minutes of the call being broadcast, the suspects were gone upon the officers’ arrival. An area search for the suspects was negative and they remain at large.

The suspects were described as black males between 17 and 22 years of age. One suspect was wearing a red shirt.

The woman struck on the head was treated at the scene by fire department medics for her non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident.
