A woman was beaten and robbed of her purse in South Seattle. On 2/5/14, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the victim was walking northbound on Renton Avenue South near South Prentice Street St when she observed a male standing at the bus stop, looking as if he was waiting for the bus. The victim continued on her way. Several minutes later, the same male from the bus stop approached the victim from behind and grabbed her purse while verbally demanding she hand over the purse.
A struggle ensued and the victim was knocked to the ground. The suspect punched the victim several times in the face and head area. Witnesses driving by stopped and assisted the victim. The suspect took the purse and fled on South Ryan Street. An area check for the suspect was negative.
The suspect is described as a black male teen, skinny build, light complexion, short hair, wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
