Detectives investigating 3 burglaries in Wedgwood Neighborhood

Officers responded to three burglaries within several blocks of one another Wednesday evening.  On 3/5/14, just shortly after 7:00 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of NE 97th St to a report of a burglary.  One complainant/victim told the officer that at approximately 7:00 p.m., she heard the sound of glass breaking and when her husband looked outside he saw that their neighbor’s window was broken.

While officers were investigating this burglary, a second call of a burglary with a rock through a window in the 3000 block of NE 95th St came in. As officers were arriving in the area of the second burglary they saw a male running into the bushes in front of a house in the 3200 block of NE 95th St. the subject was a white male wearing all black clothing.  A K-9 unit and Guardian 1 helicopter were called to the scene. Officers combed through the area for nearly two hours. The search was unsuccessful. One witness also believed the suspect was wearing a headlamp.

Officers contacted a third homeowner/victim in the 3000 block of NE 97th St. she stated that she left her house early in the day. When she returned at 8:00 p.m., she found her rear dining room window broken and open. The victim went on to say that it appeared as if the suspect did not make it inside and nothing appeared disturbed inside the house.

Suspect Information: White male, 20’s, wearing dark hoodie and dark “Bomber” style jacket.

Property Damage to homes included: Broken windows and doorjamb damage.
