Officers arrested an 18-year-old man and located two handguns after responding to 911 calls of shots fired in the Central District last night.
On April 18th at approximately 7:29 p.m. officers responded to the area of 23rd Avenue and East Union Street for reports of shots fired and cars speeding out of the area. A witness reported seeing a black male suspect dump a gun in some bushes and walk away accompanied by a black female. Officers stopped the two subjects and Gang Unit detectives responded to assist with the interviews.
Officers conducted an area search and located a handgun in some bushes nearby.
The female subject denied hearing any gunshots or seeing a gun. She was identified and released pending further investigation.
The male subject was identified and arrested once several active warrants were located. In a search of his person incident to arrest another handgun was found on him.
The 18-year-old male suspect was subsequently booked into the King County Jail on multiple charges.
No victims and no property damage were located.
