Seattle Police recovered a handgun after two men were shot at while driving on North Beacon Hill. Around 6 p.m. on April 23rd, officers responded to a call about 4 to 5 shots fired in the area of S Hanford St and 18 Ave S. Officers arrived minutes later and located the two victims of the attempted assault.
The two men said they had been driving on S Hanford St and missed a turn. When the driver put the car in reverse, they heard gunshots. The driver accelerated his car to flee the area and struck a parked car on S Hanford St. A single bullet hole was found in the victim’s driver’s side door but, neither the driver nor his passenger were injured in the shooting or the collision.
Officers searched the area but did not locate any of the suspects. However a 9mm handgun was recovered in the 1700 block of S Hanford St and has been taken into evidence. Gang Unit detectives will be handling the investigation.
