Business Damaged in South Seattle Drive-By Shooting

 

Officers arrested a Kent teen for his involvement in a drive-by shooting yesterday. No injuries were reported. A business in the 8800 block of Renton Avenue S sustained bullet damage.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing a white Acura leaving the scene and two suspects running from the area.

Officers and Gang Unit detectives arrived quickly and saw one of the suspects jump a fence in the 9100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. Officers chased him on foot and caught him. The second suspect escaped. His identity remains unknown.

During a canvas, officers and detectives discovered the bullet damage to the business and found a handgun.

The 17-year-old was booked into the Youth Service Center for a felony warrant. He remains under investigation for the shooting. The handgun was placed into evidence for forensic analysis.
