Catch of the Day: Pike Place Fish Thrower Helps Cops Net Flasher

One of Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market fish throwers helped police net a flasher Wednesday evening after he gave a group of tourists an eyeful as they tried to enjoy the view from the market.

Just before 5:30 PM, a patrol officer was making his rounds through the market when a fishmonger flagged him down and told him, “come over here and look at this guy, he’s doing weird things.” The employee informed the officer the suspect had been groping—and possibly taking pictures of—women in the market, and ushered the officer over to the man, who was standing out on a balcony.

While a group of tourists stood out on the balcony, taking in the view of the Puget Sound, the suspect stood concealed in a corner, where he seemed to be enjoying something other than the view.

As the officer approached the suspect, he noticed the man had his pants down and was pointing his genitals toward tourists on the balcony.

The officer then confronted suspect and asked the man what he was doing. “Just hanging out,” the suspect answered.

Officers arrested the suspect for Indecent Exposure and booked him into the King County Jail. Police also recovered two cell phones from the man, which will be reviewed for evidence.
