Police Seize High-Powered Guns, Cash and Hundreds of Bullets In New Holly

Detectives seized 10 guns, $5,000 in cash, and more than 500 rounds of ammunition from a home in New Holly early Friday.

Members of SPD’s SWAT team, Gang and Narcotics Units, South Precinct patrol and FBI Safe Streets Task Force served the warrant at a home in the 6500 block of 29th Avenue South. at 5:30 AM, where they recovered the guns, cash and ammo.

The home was located less than a half a mile from where Mayor Ed Murray and SPD Chief Kathleen O’Toole met with community members last month and pledged to aggressively pursue changes in gun laws to address gun violence and the trafficking of firearms.

Police did not make any arrests at the New Holly this morning, but are looking for suspects in the case.
