Update:
Detectives now have a clearer picture of what transpired during Thursday’s shooting.
The 43-year-old suspect drove to the 1700 block of South Hanford St. and found the 41-year-old victim standing in the alley.
Detectives believe the two had an argument that quickly escalated until the suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds, striking the victim. The suspect then turned the gun on himself firing one round.
Police arrived in under a minute to find the suspect on the ground still holding the gun.
Seattle Fire Department Medics were called to the scene and transported both the suspect and victim to the Harborview Medical Center (HMC).
The suspet was declared dead shortly after his arrival at HMC and victim is currently recovering from his wounds and is expected to make a full recovery.

Detectives are investigating a double shooting that left two men in life-threatening condition Thursday night.
Officers were dispatched to investigate reports of shots fired in the 1700 block of South Hanford St. at 10:20 p.m. Thursday evening. Units responding received information from multiple callers who heard arguing just prior to multiple gunshots being fired in the alley.
Officers arrived within a minute and found two people who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Seattle Fire Department Medics transported both of the injured men to Harborview Medical center with life-threatening injuries.
Seattle Police Homicide detectives are investigating this case.
At this point there is no reason to believe there are any additional suspects in this case. We will update this report as we receive more information.
