Police arrested one man on a felony warrant and collected a handgun as evidence after an early morning shooting.
A woman called 911 around 2:45 AM Tuesday and reported hearing a gunshot near 9th Ave and Marion Street and saw a man with a gun walking away from the scene. Officers arrived, and with the assistance of the witness, located the man seen carrying a gun.
When officers contacted the man, they discovered he was not carrying a gun. However, police learned he was staying at a nearby apartment with a second man who allowed officers to search the apartment. There, officers found a handgun in the living room.
Police submitted the handgun for fingerprinting and took the suspect to King County Jail on a warrant. The man could face additional charges after police process the handgun.
