Two men suffered minor injuries Wednesday night in two separate shootings that occurred in the Mount Baker and High Point neighborhoods.
Officers, responding to reports of gunfire, found a 19-year-old victim lying in a mangled car with graze wounds to his head and hand in the 4200 block of South Court Street in the Mount Baker area around 11:30 p.m.
The three people riding in the car said they were driving to Renton when they noticed another car following them. The driver sped up to lose the vehicle, but lost control around a curve at South Court Street and crashed. There were gunshots afterward, but the passengers said they did not see who fired them.
Medics sent the 19-year-old victim to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his graze wounds. The driver and another passenger went to the hospital for evaluation.
A few minutes after that shooting, Southwest Precinct officers heard a single gunshot south of their building. Moments later, officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 7500 block of 24th Avenue Southwest in the High Point area.
A witness said they heard someone knocking at their door and when they opened it, found the 37-year-old victim who had suffered a gunshot wound to the ankle. The victim would not cooperate with police and didn’t provide a description of the suspect.
Medics sent the victim to the hospital for treatment of a graze wound.
