Police Make Arrest and Recover Gun After Man Injured In Beacon Hill Shooting

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man and seized a gun at Beacon Hill apartment complex Friday evening after another man was wounded in a shooting.

Police received umerous reports of shots fired near 38th Ave South and South Willow Street around 4:45 PM. Officers arrived at the scene within one minute of dispatch and found a 27-year-old man lying on the street with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Seattle firefighters treated the 27-year-old man and transported him to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

As officers began searching the scene for a suspect in the shooting, police received a 911 call from who he had been involved in the incident. Officers found the man in a nearby apartment, where they seized a gun and took the man into custody.

Officers recovered more than a dozen shell casings from two different guns at the scene, and found that one building in the area was damaged by gunfire.

Police are still investigating the circumstances the led up to the incident.
