Police arrested two men early Friday after a 24-year-old pot dealer was stabbed in the University District.
The victim reportedly sold the suspects marijuana before they returned to get their money back. Shortly before 1 AM, one of the suspects stabbed the pot dealer in the left armpit and knocked him to the ground outside a bar in the 5200 block of University Way Northeast. The suspects fled in a red Nissan Pathfinder.
Witnesses got the license plate number and Bellevue police spotted the vehicle about 1:15 AM. Bellevue officers pulled the car over in the West Lake Hills neighborhood in Bellevue and detained the occupants, two men, who are 37 and 24 years old.
Witnesses were able to identify them as the men who attacked the pot dealer. Some of the victim’s clothing also was recovered from the car. The two suspects confessed to the attack, arguing they acted in self-defense. They were arrested and booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
