Several men reportedly beat up another man in the Capitol Hill area early Monday after making derogatory remarks about his sexual orientation.
The victim told police he was smoking a cigarette near the corner of Belmont Avenue and East Pike Street around 1:30 AM when three to four males walked up, insulted him and then attacked. The victim could not describe his attackers.
The victim had injuries to his head and face and was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries for treatment.
Officers searched the area for the suspects, but weren’t able to find them.
SPD’s Bias Crimes unit will review the case. Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call 911 and talk to officers.
