King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg has informed the Seattle Police Department that his office has declined to file criminal charges stemming from a June 22, 2014 use of force incident. The investigation was performed by the Washington State Patrol to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest. The case will now be investigated by the Office of Professional Accountability.
The officer will remain on administrative leave while the internal investigation proceeds.
