A Ballard woman’s pet monitoring camera system—like a web-connected nanny cam, for dogs—caught a burglar kicking in her front door last week, and police are now working to identify the man.
The woman was at work around 4 PM on February 25th when pet camera system alerted her that her two small dogs were barking. She then watched a live video feed from her living room as a man kicked in her front door and walked right past ger puppy cam.
The suspect quickly fled the woman’s home after a burglar alarm sounded, grabbing an antique jewelry box on his way out door.
The victim headed home and called 911, and later provided police with images of the suspect.
Detectives haven’t yet identified the man, but are hoping someone out there recognizes him. If you do, please contact North Precinct detectives at (206) 684-5735.
