Police seized nine guns and arrested two burglars Friday night following a break-in at a storage facility in the Westlake neighborhood.
Officers received a call from a victim just before 8:30 PM, reporting a break-in to his storage unit in the 2200 block Aurora Avenue North. When officers arrived, they found two suspects still inside the unit and arrested the two men.
While investigating the case, police found the suspects had been carrying a number of stolen items, including a bag filled with nine guns—among them, an M1 Garand, .32 pistol and a black powder rifle—and a number of other stolen items taken in recent break-ins in the area.
Officers seized the guns and other items and booked both suspects—one of whom is a convicted felon, and unable to legally possess firearms—into the King County Jail. Police are now working to find the rightful owners of all the stolen items.
