Police are searching for the suspect in an early morning stabbing downtown that sent one man to the hospital.
Several witnesses called 911 after seeing one man stab another near 2 Ave and Columbia Street around 2:45 AM Thursday morning. Officers arrived and began to administer first-aid to the 37-year-old victim who was lying on the ground at 1st Ave and Columbia Street. Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud argument between two or three men at 2 Ave and Columbia. The argument continued to escalate when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times. The suspect fled to a waiting taxi and the victim ran a block before lying down on the sidewalk. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, about 6 feet tall, with a slim build and buzzed hair.
Officers collected evidence, including the knife, and took photographs at the scene. A detective will continue the investigation. If you witnessed the assault or have any information, please call 911 to speak with an officer.
