Officers arrested three men for burglary in the Bitter Lake neighborhood early Saturday morning.
The witness, a local handyman, went to a home in the 12700 block of Phinney Ave. N. for a job, but when he arrived, at midnight, he was met by three men who had already entered the home. The witness asked the men what they were doing. The three couldn’t explain why they had removed items from the home and placed them in their van and claimed to be “helping the neighborhood.” The witness didn’t believe the three and blocked the suspect’s van in the driveway with his truck before calling 911.
Officer Marcus Inouye arrived and spoke with the homeowners over the phone who said the only person allowed in the home was the handyman. Officer Inouye took the owner of the van into custody and booked him into King County Jail for investigation of burglary. The other two men were identified and released from the scene, but may face future charges.
