Officers arrested a man after he stole a Victory Heights man’s dog Saturday evening.
The victim had lost his dog a few days ago and was looking around the neighborhood for him at 9:30 PM Saturday. The man spotted his dog with the suspect near NE 125th St. and 17th Ave. NE. The suspect demanded compensation for finding the pooch, in the form of cash or drugs. The victim explained that he didn’t have anything to give him. The suspect shoved the victim to the ground and snatched the dog away before leaving in his car.
The victim described the suspect to officers who immediately recognized him from previous encounters. The officers telephoned the suspect who came running when called (no word on whether or not the suspect was given a treat). Officers took the suspect into custody and returned the dog to his owner.
The suspect has been booked into King County Jail for investigation of Robbery.
