Detectives arrested a teen Thursday evening after officers found him driving around in a stolen car, carrying two guns.
Gang Unit Detectives were patrolling near Martin Luther King Jr Way S. and S Dearborn St. just before 8 PM when they spotted a car believed to have been involved in a shooting days earlier.
Detectives checked the plate of the 90’s Crown Victoria and discovered it had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
Police stopped the stolen car in the 2300 block of S. Bayview St. and arrested the 17-year-old driver. Police found a gun stashed in the glove box and another hidden under a seat. Detectives identified and interviewed three passengers in the vehicle before releasing them from the scene.
Detectives booked the 18-year-old driver, who is also a convicted felon, into the King County Youth Services Center for a firearms charge and impounded the vehicle.
