Suspect Tells Officers About Gun, Forgets To Mention The Drugs

Downtown bike officers arrested a 24-year-old man Sunday afternoon on a warrant and unearthed drugs and a stolen gun.

Bike Officers Sgt. Ryan Keith and James Coma were patrolling near 3 Ave and Pine St. when they noticed a man they knew had a felony warrant for narcotics.  The suspect let officers know he had a hand gun stashed in his waistband as they approached.  Officer Coma handcuffed and searched the suspect and found a 9 mm handgun in the suspect’s waistband as well as the previously undisclosed 19 baggies of crack cocaine and 24 baggies of heroin in his pockets.

Officers later did a check of the firearm which showed that it was stolen.  Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for narcotics charges, a weapons charge and his warrant.
