Teen Injured In Early Morning Georgetown Shooting

A 17-year-old was wounded by gunfire early Thursday morning in the Georgetown neighborhood.

Witnesses began calling 911 just before 3 a.m. reporting shots fired in the 6300 block of 6 Ave. S.

A teen was standing on the sidewalk when he heard shots fired, one of which struck him in the leg.  A group of friends began loading the teen into a nearby car as officers arrived. Officers called for Seattle Fire Medics who stabilized the victim before taking him to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Gang Unit Detectives spoke with witnesses who described a black SUV that slowly drove along 6 Ave. S. while the occupants fired out the windows. Detectives scoured the area and located 60 spent shell casings as well as damage to cars and buildings in the area.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call (206)625-5011 and speak with an officer.
